Course Outline

Unique to SAFe®, the Release Train Engineer (RTE) is part of the trio of leaders that includes product managers and system architects. The RTE plays a critical role in leading Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to deliver value.

This SAFe RTE Training, we will prepare you for the SAFe RTE certification exam.

  • Prerequisites

    The following skills are beneficial to those wanting to succeed in the RTE class and pass the exam:

    • Cross-team communication skills
    • Full use of SAFe Principles in action
    • Coach Agile and SAFe facilitation and lead by example
    • Launch or participate in at least one ART and one Program Increment (PI)
    • Working knowledge of team dynamics
    • Ability to manage stakeholders
    • Minimum 3 months of real-world, hands-on experience as an RTE
  • Certification Information

    • Duration: 120 minutes
    • Number of Questions: 60
    • Passing Score: 79%
    • Delivery: Web-based, closed book, no outside assistance, timed
    • Access: Practice and certification exams are available in your Scaled Agile Community portal under the course you’re attending.
    • Cost: Initial cost is included in the course registration fee if taken within 30 days of course completion.
    • Retake Fee: $50; $250 for SPCs
    • Retake Policy: First retake may be taken immediately after the first failed attempt. Second retake may be taken 10 days after the first retake. Third retake may be taken 30 days after the second retake. All subsequent retakes require a 30-day wait.

Module 3: Organizing the ART
