Course Outline

In this two-day SAFe® certification course, you will learn how to lead a Lean-Agile enterprise by leveraging the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) version 6.0 and its underlying principles derived:

  • Lean
  • Systems thinking
  • Agile development
  • Product development flow
  • DevOps

You will also learn how to:

  • Establish team and technical agility
  • Organize and re-organize around the flow of value
  • Support and execute PI Planning events
  • Coordinate multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs)

  • Prerequisites

    To benefit the most from this course, it's suggested that you have:

    • Five years or more of work in software development, testing, business analysis, and product or project management.
    • Some experience with Scrum.

  • Certification Information

    • Duration: 90 minutes 
    • Number of Questions: 45 
    • Passing Score: 80% 
    • Delivery: Web-based, closed book, no outside assistance, timed 
    • Access: Practice and certification exams are available in your Scaled Agile Community portal under the course you’re attending.  
    • Cost: Initial cost is included in the course registration fee if taken within 30 days of course completion. 
    • Retake Fee: $50; $250 for SPCs 
    • Retake Policy: First retake may be taken immediately after the first failed attempt. Second retake may be taken 10 days after the first retake. Third retake may be taken 30 days after the second retake. All subsequent retakes require a 30-day wait.

Module 3: Understanding SAFe Principles

  • Build incrementally with fast, integrated learning cycles 
  • Base milestones on an objective evaluation of working systems 
  • Visualize and limit WIP, reduce batch sizes, and manage queue lengths 
  • Apply cadence and synchronize with cross-domain planning 
  • Unlock the intrinsic motivation of knowledge workers 
  • Decentralize decision-making 

Module 4: Experience PI Planning

In this module, you will learn how to:  

  • Create and review draft PI plans 
  • Finalize plans and establish business value 
  • Review final plans and commit to a set of PI Objectives 

Module 5: Exploring, Executing, and Releasing Value

In this module, you will learn how to:  

  • Continuously deliver value with Agile Release Trains (ARTs) 
  • Continuously explore customer needs 
  • Develop the Vision, Roadmap, and Program Backlog 
  • Prioritize the Program Backlog for optimal ROI

Module 6: Leading the Lean-Agile Enterprise

In this module, you will learn how to:

Module 8: Building Large Solutions

In this module, you will learn how to:
